Google is bringing Gemini analysis to Sheets on Android. The idea is straightforward: ask about the data in your spreadsheet and get help finding insights or generating a chart, while you are still on your phone.

Google’s interface preview shows an “Analyze this data” prompt followed by key takeaways. It makes a spreadsheet feel more like something you can ask a question about, even on a small screen.

What works on mobile

This release focuses on analysis, insights and charts. More complex editing, formatting and formula work remains on the web.

That distinction matters if your phone is your only device. The update can help you understand a sheet while away from your desk; it does not make every desktop workflow available on mobile.

Who gets it

The rollout began September 9 and can take up to 15 days. Access is included with eligible paid Google Workspace and Google AI plans, rather than every free Google account. Google’s release notes list the eligible editions.
