Four clips, four very different city problems
NVIDIA’s October 13 partner showcase is easiest to understand through its original videos. K2K’s clip presents a city-scale model for mobility and urban planning; the company says it is exploring pilots with the Liverpool City Region, Jersey and Belfast. The video is a visual example of a planning environment, not proof that a city has automated its transport system.
Akila’s Côte-d’Or example is more operational. Akila and ThinkDeep combine sensor, infrastructure and historical records in a locally controlled digital twin for more than 500 public buildings. NVIDIA reports that the agents cut document searches from weeks to minutes and operating costs by 10%, with a 30% target at scale. Those are company-reported project results.
Building operations and 3D city planning
Honeywell’s Dubai Fairmont Hotel demo shows Forge Cognition connected to building systems. Its interface distinguishes manual, semi-autonomous recommendations with approval, and a future unattended mode. That label matters: the current visual is about finding energy and operating insights, not an agent making unsupervised changes to a hotel.
Linker Vision and MVRDV’s clip uses a digital city model to explore how urban spaces might change. NVIDIA describes the wider system as combining Cosmos, video search and summarization, Nemotron agents and Omniverse digital-twin tools. Together, those pieces can help a team find congestion or equipment issues, compare a planning option, and decide what deserves attention.
The useful test is faster, traceable city work
The four examples suggest a practical pattern: connect local records or video to a model, let an agent surface a candidate issue, then keep a person responsible for the decision. The Côte-d’Or search-time result is a clearer near-term benefit than the broader promise of an AI-run city. NVIDIA’s announcement is a vendor showcase, and the examples range from active deployments to pilots and explorations; citywide outcomes have not been independently measured in the post.
