One agent toolkit, five languages

Google’s Agent Development Kit now spans Python, Go, TypeScript, Java and Kotlin. The announcement presents the releases as one development approach across languages, with shared ideas for composing agents and connecting tools. For engineering teams, the immediate payoff is choice: an agent can be built closer to the language and runtime already used by a service.

Why language coverage can change adoption

A team may prototype an agent in Python but need production services in Go or Java. Native language support can reduce the boundary between a demo and the systems that operate it. Google also points developers to skills for agent-building workflows and an llms.txt file for coding assistants.

The real test is whether the implementations, libraries and examples feel equally complete in the language your team needs. Start with one small agent, check tool integration and observability, and compare deployment friction before committing a larger system.
